No Lindsay No!!!!!

Whilst I am generally a supporter of Li Lo, I almost spat out my cornflakes when i saw these pics this morning.
Lindsay has attempted to portray the legendary Marilyn Monroe in a shoot for NY Mag based on the idol's last ever photographs now known as 'The Last Sitting'.
Despite being shot by the original photographer, Bert Stern (who shot these photos of Marilyn in 1962 and in the same location), Lindsay fails to pull off the same elegant glamour for me. The nudity is seedy, and it is more grubby motel than vintage Playboy.
Don't even get me started on that ratty old wig!!

Alexa Chung - New style icon??

I met Alexa Chung a few years ago, back in my styling days when she was a 'new face' sent out on test shoots by her model agency. Whilst she was obviously a stuningly beautiful girl with a sense of style, she is definitely a prime example of someone who's taste and personal style has developed over time and with a career.
These days there are few publications both on and offline who haven't discussed one of Miss Chung's outfits when writing about celebrity style, and this is not something that has just taken off in the UK; just last week the US style site Whowhatwear daily (one of my faves) included Alexa in the celeb style line up they were running. This shows the extent of her style status based on the fact that the US is probably not famiar with any of her TV presenting/modelling work.

What is great about Alexa (and the reason i have her included her in today's post) is the fact that she really epitomises London street style. She has a beautiful 'english rose' face yet dresses in the quirky, effortless way that really epitomises the London scene and not in the 'stiff' british fashion of many before her.
Dressed in a gorgeous pink dress by british designer Luella for the Elle style awards on tuesday, Alexa showed her patriotism for home grown talent and demonstrated why she is definitely one to watch in 2008.

Alexa Chung I salute you!
